Our Celebration Day is a re-enactment of a Victorian Day in the park and so far we have someone cycling round the park on a penny farthing, traditional street games peever, skipping ropes, gird and cleeks, traditional races, three legged, egg and spoon, sailing boats on the pond, croquet on the lawn with people dressed in Victorian Dress a maid serving tea and a ensemble playing music, local schools are providing bands, choirs etc. Cricket and tennis matches still to be organised. Cordia (Glasgow Council’s catering) is running a Victorian Tea Tent serving traditional afternoon tea. Everything in the park will be free apart from afternoon tea. A Fun Day out for all the family.
The 15th of September is also Open Doors Day so there will be guided tours round the park and the Curling Rink and Fossil Grove will both be open.
